They are cataloging the nightmares of the world. And they are waking them up one by one.
The Black Death has passed, but an older terror is rising. The Order of the Watchers, ancient heretics seeking power through knowledge, are unlocking dormant alchemical horrors left behind by the Roman Empire.
From a mine in the Highlands where a "White Lady" turns men to stone, to a fortress in York where a "Gold King" rules rivers of molten metal, the Watchers are initiating a Great Work to remake humanity. They seek not just to change base metals, but to transmute flesh into eternal, unfeeling perfection-whether of stone, gold, or pure spirit.
Standing against them are Cyprian, a fallen priest who fights like a demon, and Rowan, a woman who survived the stone sickness and now carries an arm of cold iron that can break alchemical bonds. Using a stolen ledger as their map, they must destroy the Watchers' horrifying "assets" before the final element is unleashed at Lindisfarne.
