Jack Nicholls was born in Truro. He has twice been a member of the Royal Court Writers' Group, and once longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize. He wrote and directed the BFI Network short Nettle Day, which premiered at the Manchester Film Festival. He has won third place and been highly commended in the National Poetry Competition, and his poetry has been published in Poetry Review, PN Review and the New Statesman.
