This story is about a cute little Maltese puppy that wanted his own way and decided to disobey. He finds the adventure is not as nice as he first thought it to be, as he gets scared, cold, and hungry. He prays, and God sends him help to keep him warm in the form of a neighbors cat. Barnabas learns that he was wrong and vows to never disobey again.

The author has three Maltese dogs, two females and one male. She has had two litters of puppies, one from each female. Callie had two puppies and Kiley had five puppies. She lives with her husband of 52 years, who graciously allowed her to have each of these dogs and also the puppies. They have two children, and seven grandchildren, two of which are married.
