It is the summer of 1925 in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Newlyweds James and Mildred Teed move into their dream house, but dark forces threaten their happiness. Mildred hears voices and slips into delusion until she is unable to discern what is real and what is not.
It is the summer of 1963. Betty, her husband, and their children move into their new home. The glow of owning their first house is darkened by the house's history, though its tainted past is what made it affordable. People in the town are frightened by the Teed house. Few will step foot in it, and soon Betty realizes her family must leave-before they run out of time.
It is the summer of 2023, and Jess's world has fallen apart. She leaves her job as a legal aid lawyer in Toronto and returns to her hometown of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. With money tight, she buys the dilapidated Teed house-she's never believed the stories. After all, houses aren't really haunted. Are they?
