Our story begins with bored accountant Elizabet, living in the city of Taliville, in a small, undersized, windowless apartment.

Underneath the boredom is fear. Fear of living in a world she doesn't want to face. Novo happened. When war ravaged the world during her childhood and collapsed it. Disease. Starvation riots. The death of her mother, which still hurts.

Elizabet is a very bored accountant in a corporation that pays her barely well enough to have that miniscule space of freedom, hidden from the dangers of the city, where her front door is hidden behind another, in a basement access.

She comes home from a shopping trip to face the brutality of betrayal, where that hidden front door has been ripped off its hinges and so has her life and everything she loves.

Can she grab for a lifeline, not knowing it will ultimately bring her more destruction, maybe in the midst of a pending civil war? Will courage save her?

Our story also begins with Jordan. Cracked up Jordan, the Chief of Police (a title he scoffs at since he's the only cop in nearly 300 square miles). He has no idea the number of laws, laws he is sword to uphold, he is about to break underneath the noses of his military brothers.

Jordan knows what he is about to endure again. He has no idea if he will finally go over the edge.

Hi. Katrin Greene here.

I put a bit of everything into Ridge Lake. Romance. Paranormal. Adventure. Goats. War-torn Post-Apocalyptic. Some civil war and unrest. Rising up from the ashes.

I know most authors get pretty drooly about their worlds. I re-read my books and say, "geez. I wrote that? ME?" Even now, when I am 95% done with books 12 and 13.

When I say "Immerse Yourself"? I'm not kidding. I love it when I can sink into the environment and lose myself.

I dropped into my characters' daily lives and shared it, good, bad, and all. The heroine in one book may not be quite the same in the others, with changes in perspectives. Each book asks the question: "What if?"

It's dark. Dark themed and dark humor, with a cheesecake overlay and written tongue-in-cheek.

Each book is a romance. But not your typical romance. These books aren't your sipping from a teacup normal anything. There's also themes about loyalty, friendship, puns that last the entire series. Meeting up with a character just before or after one of the worst points of their lives. Does Jordan crack up a second time? Can the rift between him and his military brothers ever heal? Does Elizabet ever forgive her father? Does the romance in book 2 make it to the end of the series? Does the sniper go crazy? Does the bar owner cope with the loss of her family? Does the maid? There are thousands of these, and more, across 13 books.

Are you ready for Ridge Lake? Let's Go!

Autorentext

Hi. My pen name is Katrin Greene.

I have lived most of my life as an office manager, accountant, auditor, math-geek, and applications specialist. Sometimes this has been in someone's garage. Sometimes, a cube farm. That's my "work life."

The life inside my brain??? Well, that's a bit different. A friend once told me its like watching glitterbombs go off like fireworks.

My current worlds:

The World of Novo: a post-apocalyptic world, twenty years later, and how much fun some people bring into the world.

Haven Point: A semi-rookie police officer and her dog in the Adirondacks trying to pay off her student loans and deal with a mother that is gender-biased and trying to marry her off...

See you around the stacks sometime!
