ROOTED: A Boy's Search for Home
What does it mean to find home when you've spent your life searching for it?
In ROOTED, Kyron Hodges shares the deeply personal story of a childhood marked by abandonment, foster care, abuse, juvenile institutions, prison, and ultimately redemption.
At seven years old, Kyron's mother left him with a man he didn't know was his biological father. What followed was a journey through hospitals, foster homes, The Children's Village, juvenile institutions, and ultimately prison.
Along the way, he experienced heartbreaking loss, including the death of his mother while he was incarcerated. That loss changed the course of his life forever.
Instead of allowing his past to define him, Kyron made a promise: to honor his mother's memory by becoming the man she always believed he could be.
ROOTED is more than a memoir. It is a story of resilience, accountability, forgiveness, and the power of second chances. It follows one man's journey from surviving trauma to building businesses, producing films, strengthening his family, and dedicating his life to creating opportunities for others.
Honest, moving, and ultimately hopeful, ROOTED reminds us that our beginnings do not determine our destination. No matter how deep the pain or how difficult the road, it is possible to build a life of purpose.
If you have ever struggled with loss, questioned your worth, or wondered whether people can truly change, this memoir offers a powerful answer: your past may shape you, but it does not have to define you.
