Worldwide, 1 in 9 adults has diabetes ? but even more already have prediabetes or obesity, quietly heading the same way. In South Asia, the picture is sharper still: in Pakistan, nearly one in three adults is living with diabetes.
The Silent Tsunami reveals the hidden process happening inside your body years before diagnosis ? a condition Dr. Masood Hameed Khan calls dysmetabolism ? the slow, silent breakdown of metabolic health that precedes obesity, insulin resistance, and Type 2 diabetes.
Drawing on more than four decades as a physician, medical educator, and the Founding Vice-Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences, Dr. Khan translates complex metabolic science into a clear, practical roadmap anyone can follow ? no medical background required.
Inside, you'll learn:
- Why a "normal" blood sugar test can still mean trouble is brewing
- The real difference between losing weight and losing the right fat
- The C⁴S Lifestyle™ ? five daily habits that protect your metabolism
- The Good Metabolic Plate™ ? a simple, no-counting approach to healthy eating
- How to read your own body's warning signs, years before disease appears
- A practical, evidence-based screening checklist for early detection
This isn't a diet book. It's a prevention manual ? grounded in international guidelines and decades of clinical experience, written for families everywhere facing one of the fastest-growing health crises of our time.
