Nelly was born in Amalfi, Colombia. She has always been passionate about education. Her academic training focused on the methodological strategies for teaching English as a second language. Nelly worked as a teacher to children and young people in public schools in Colombia. Today, she is retired from the public sector, but not from education, continuing her pedagogical work through writing children's stories. She enriches her story telling with pedagogical activities that promote learning and strengthening of bonds between the child and the caretaker. Her dream is to reach many young readers with her stories. She aims for children to be able to integrate their love for reading, learning English and values that will allow them to accept their individuality and build healthy relationships with others.
