Clara needs a fresh start. After a book that cost her her mother's trust and her own creative voice, she retreats to a whitewashed cottage on the cliffs of coastal Portugal with nothing but a blank page and the Atlantic for company.
Then she meets Filipe.
Reserved, gentle, still carrying the shape of his late wife everywhere he goes, he is not looking for anyone. Neither is Clara. But the cliffs are narrow, the evenings are long, and grief has a way of finding the people who understand it.
What grows between them is slow and real and harder to name than anything Clara has ever tried to put into words. It is also built on something she has kept from him: Clara is a novelist, Filipe is the most compelling story she has ever found, and she has not been entirely honest about what she intends to do with him.
Whispering Tides is a romance about two people finding each other at exactly the wrong moment, and what it takes to become worthy of a second chance. Tender, literary, and set against the stunning backdrop of the Portuguese coast.
Autorentext
Olivia Crest grew up on the Oregon coast, where she spent her days fishing with her family and wandering the long beaches and grass-tufted dunes, watching the tide come in and dreaming up stories. She has been writing for as long as she can remember, filling school notebooks with tales long before she ever thought of becoming an author.
That love of the sea and of quiet, beautiful places has never left her. She travels often through Europe, lingering in the coastal towns of Portugal, the sunlit corners of Spain, and the hill towns of Italy, always collecting the small moments and gentle romances that find their way into her writing. A native English speaker, she is also at home in German and Spanish.
She writes cozy romance, warm-hearted stories about love, second chances, and the places that feel like home. Whispering Tides is her debut novel, with more stories already on the way. She currently lives in Grava, Italy, a small town she fell in love with, where the sea is never far away.
