The writings contained within chronicle the mental and spiritual journey that the author has undergone. Some of the poems reflect the struggles of post-traumatic stress, while others are more spiritual in nature. Although there are differences in subject matter, the author wrote the truth of what is in his heart and soul.

As he began to turn back toward his faith, the author wrote more poems about spiritual matters. The need for the author to submit and lay his life in Gods hands became greater as the days went on. When submission came, it was while the author was writing a poem.

Vorwort
A man's mental and spiritual struggle to regain his identity after he is changed by war!

Autorentext

After entering the US Navy in early 2000, the author was eventually stationed aboard an aircraft carrier. September 11, 2001, his ship was deployed within a week to go overseas. After returning from deployment overseas, he wasn't the same person. Eventually the author was diagnosed with PTSD.

Writing these poems has helped tremendously in reducing the severity of his PTSD symptoms and renewing his faith in God. These poems are a journey through the author's memories, flashbacks, and nightmares of his time in the navy and his struggles since then.

He is now living in northern New Hampshire with his wife and two sons. His wife and older son have been with him from the beginning. All three have stuck with him through all the hills and valleys of his journey.
