Rochelle Borton: Building People, Building Possibility is an inspiring biography of an Australian leader whose life reflects the transformative power of belief, adaptability and service. Born in Camden, New South Wales, and raised in a family that valued curiosity and learning beyond the classroom, Rochelle's early years were shaped by significant relocations-from regional Australia to San Francisco-instilling resilience, cultural awareness and confidence.

An outspoken and engaged student, Rochelle thrived on connection, leadership and learning. Sport further reinforced discipline and teamwork, while early personal disappointments forged a lifelong commitment to integrity and lifting others rather than competing against them.

Her professional career began close to executive decision-making, working as an Executive Assistant within major financial, industrial and educational institutions. This proximity to complex systems fuelled a desire to lead change rather than simply support it. Transitioning into project leadership and executive roles within universities and leadership programs, Rochelle refined a clear philosophy: build people first, and sustainable systems will follow. In 2016, she founded Eduinfluencers, embracing the uncertainty of entrepreneurship with determination and a commitment to continuous improvement. Nearly a decade later, she expanded her mission with the launch of SENSE Training Australia, deepening her focus on capability, agency and purpose.

Parallel to her professional life ran extensive service through JCI. Over more than twenty years, Rochelle served locally, nationally and internationally-culminating in roles as National President of JCI Australia and International Vice President. Her leadership impacted hundreds of emerging leaders worldwide through training, mentoring and advocacy.

Central to her life is family. As the mother of six children, Rochelle has navigated profound personal change with resilience and clarity, reinforcing her belief that it is never too late to grow or begin again. Part of the Not Ordinary Lives: Movers & Shakers series, this biography honours a life dedicated to building people-and through them, possibility.

About the Author

It might be said that the expression "Jack of all trades and master of none" is an apt description of Peter J Snow OAM.

He abandoned pursuit of an engineering degree and accounting qualifications ? but his efforts will leave an extraordinary legacy.

He attributes this to the training, skills and self-confidence he gained through membership of JCI (formerly known as Jaycees International) after joining Fremantle Jaycees in 1970.

Obstacles encountered dented (but certainly not overwhelmed) his positive approach and desire to help and mentor others. His vision, entrepreneurial skills and contribution to his community over 70+ years (some of which are referred to in this book) have resulted in a myriad of awards.

International awards for programs developed or overseen by him include: national public relations; awards; fundraising; group collaboration; commercial education; and assistance to the handicapped.

Personal awards include: Voluntary Contribution to Western Australian Heritage; Honorary Tarheel of North Carolina; a Paul Harris fellowship from Rotary; and Community Torchbearer for the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

In addition to being recognised as Outstanding Senator of JCI, Outstanding National Officer and one of the World's Inspiring Jaycees, he was Australian Jaycees (JCIA) first Ambassador in Western Australia and one of the state's Five Outstanding Young Australians.

Along with a JCI Senatorship, he holds life memberships of 8 community or sporting organisations and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his contribution to the Australian community. In 2025 he was awarded Life Membership of JCIA.
