A passion for music and storytelling drove Rantz A. Hoseley to escape his rural northwest upbringing, beginning his wide-ranging career as a storyboards artist on Rock Videos that included Aerosmith's seminal DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY. He's worked for almost 40 years within the comic industry, where he received the Eisner and Harvey Awards for 2008's COMIC BOOK TATTOO, adapted Nikki Sixx's memoir THE HEROIN DIARIES and Robert Kiyosaki's RICH DAD POOR DAD into graphic novels, and served as the Managing Editor of HEAVY METAL MAGAZINE for three years alongside Editor-in-Chief Grant Morrison. Since 2019, Rantz has served as the Editor-In-Chief at Z2, earning the company 14 industry award nominations for graphic novel projects with artists as varied as Joan Jett and Tori Amos to Weird Al and Iron Maiden. A proud member of the WGA, he continues to write and develop original stories in comics, prose and film from his home in Southern California.
