Dr. Wilfred "Wilf" Jarvis has decided to declare his feelings for Honoria Sherwood and ask to formally court her. But before he can take this momentous step, Honoria's estranged half-brother Calidore arrives with a startling proposition: a former paramour possesses a compromising photograph that could threaten his new engagement, and he wants Honoria to steal it.
