The author was raised in a Christian family of nine members and attended an independent Bible church whenever the doors were open. Its theology was essentially Baptist, but during a tour in the US Air Force, he became exposed to other denominations and learned that there existed different interpretations of various issues. After publishing But What Does the Bible Say, Second Edition, and Memories, he became impressed with a need to address these other issues.
