Part 2 In the ward (management of acute post-operative and other problems): introduction to the urology ward; the blocked catheter; post-operative bleeding; DVT and pulmonary embolus; slight but persistent haematuria; TUR syndrome; failure of catheter balloon to deflate; "catheter spasm"; analgesics; urinary tract infection; acute septicaemia; pre-operative antibiotics; drug affecting bladder function.
