Architecture studio, fundamental to architecture school, is complex, challenging and exciting. It is multifarious, unique and breath-taking. How do you navigate this?
This Book of Tasks helps students and teachers navigate the process with curiosity and optimism through a flexible and instructive approach. Created by a team of experienced architects following a decade of collaborative studio teaching at the University of Liverpool School of Architecture, it provides an illustrated collection of instructive exercises for students and teachers of architecture, to guide and stimulate study and skill-building across the design cycles of a professional undergraduate architecture studio.
Multiple modes of activity and guidance help different learning styles: whether in person, or learning remotely, in a group, or learning on your own. Many illustrations, examples and signposted resources support study and suggest avenues for further independent enquiry and experimentation. For students it is a helping hand, a tutor in your pocket. For teachers the Book of Tasks fosters a reflexive approach and provides an equitable management framework.
