The purpose of this book is to provide a pedagogical platform on PE brushes that will appeal to both the beginner in the topic as well advanced researchers. Achieved by including (a) classical theoretical understanding on PE brushes, (b) recent developments on theoretical and atomistic modelling of PE brushes, (c) a summary of the applications that can be described by these theoretical models, and (d) open questions for future research on the topic.
The intention is to also include MATLAB codes, which will help to provide description of scaling calculation results and continuum simulation results for nanoconfined PE brush system. These simulations will also provide animation capabilities, showing how the PE brushes change configuration with change in grafting density, degree of nanoconfinement, salt concentration, pH, etc.
