Karibu Republic: A Play is a political drama about the gradual collapse of a fictional African nation under the leadership of President Kutto Barasa, whose corruption, foreign deals, and endless borrowing enrich a small elite while ordinary citizens struggle to survive. As public institutions weaken, land is exploited, opportunities disappear, and everyday life becomes increasingly difficult for those living under a system that no longer serves its people.

Through sixty interconnected scenes, the play follows individuals trying to endure and rebuild amid the ruins: Dave, an unemployed engineer; Faith, a market vendor forced to pay bribes; General Biko, a soldier questioning his loyalty; and Margaret, a woman who quietly plants seeds in devastated ground. Moving from political betrayal to human resilience, Karibu Republic asks whether hope, dignity, and community can still survive when a nation has been abandoned by those entrusted to lead it.
