This debut collection from Tyler Hamilton is a poetic affair which takes place wherever you take it.

Moving between tenderness and uncertainty, desire and transformation, Trust a Poet To... invites the reader into a world where feeling is never simple, identity is never fixed, and even the most ordinary moments can become strange, charged, and luminous.

These poems linger in the spaces between people, between bodies, between memory and imagination. They ask what it means to be known, to be held, to be changed by love, and to keep becoming yourself in a world that rarely offers easy answers.

If you're into (debatably) romantic poetry, then hold this book in all its cracks, bends, folds, in no attempt to repair it.

Autorentext

Tyler Hamilton (He/They) is a romantic poet (debatably) with a love for sunflowers, painting and music. His work focuses heavily on the dichotomy between myth and trust and aims to explore authenticity in beliefs and emotion versus intrinsic identity. Growing up in a small coastal town with a love for literature, music, and the arts, he moved to London in 2021 to study English and work in theatre, an unsurprising, natural progression. His poetry aims to dispel what he considers to be mistruths about love and offer a space for a reader's "want" to exist in a realm of permanence. Tyler draws on his experiences with love as a trans man, and the routes in which desire manifests itself in a body that doesn't always align with his sense of self. To "want" becomes a physical sensation that he seeks to explain through the mediums of both poetry and movement and demonstrate how this is different from a "need".Trust a Poet To... is his debut poetry anthology.
